State-of-the-art Technology

Conventional surgical procedures consist of three main stages: making incision; removing or repairing an organ or tissue; and suturing. In minimal access surgery, the impact of the first and last of these step is reduced as far as possible, either by gaining access to the body through natural orifices or by making very small incisions (typically 5-15 mm across). The development of fibre optic light sources, miniature video cameras and specially designed (e.g. cutting, grasping, stapling) tools has allowed increasingly complex surgeries to be performed effectively and efficiently ; with the surgeon being guided by high resolution, magnified video images.

As a part of discharge process, the patient and their family are explained about the aliment and the surgery procedure with the help of patient's surgery videograph and/or photograph.
